10月4日、ホンジュラスのテグシガルパ市にて、日本と中米の友好80周年を記念するイベントの一環として第9回ホンジュラス空手カップが開催されました。
この大会を日本と中米統合機構（SICA）の友好年公式イベントとするために、WKOホンジュラス支部と在ホンジュラス日本国大使館が一丸となりました。
大会には大使館よりホンジュラス駐箚特命全権大使である岡田憲治氏と、三井祥子氏が参加しました。
開会に際し岡田氏は温かいスピーチを送り、WKOホンジュラス国代表のネストル・クバス・アルバラド責任者は、グレイシー・モリーナ選手が第 11 回世界大会中米地区女子代表選手に選ばれたという功績を報告しました。
大会には国内各地から選手が集まり、優勝を目指し、それぞれが強く効果的なテクニックを披露しました。
他団体からも選手が参加し、世界各地で起こっているフルコンタクト空手界の団結を、ホンジュラスでも感じることができました。
The 9th National Karate Cup

As part of the events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of friendly relations between Central America and Japan, the WKO Shinkyokushinkai Honduras Branch and the Japan Embassy in Honduras worked as one to make the 9th National Karate Cup an official event of the JAPAN-SICA (Central American Integration System in spanish) Friendship Year.
The Ambassador of Japan, Kenji Okada and the Cultural Aggregate of the Embassy, Shoko Mitsui attended the competition. Mr. Okada gave a warm welcome speech and WKO Country Representative, Mr. Nestor Cubas Alvarado reported that this year marked a success to WKO Honduras Branch as Greissy Molina qualified to compete at the 11th World Championship in Tokyo at the end of the month.
Competitors from around the country gathered in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and demonstrated strong and effective techniques to reach the highest positions. Competitors from other Full Contact Organizations did also fight in cooperation as happening in the world.
