The August 2025 Kyu Grading was successfully held on Saturday, 9th August 2025, at KO Fight Studio, Gulshan, Dhaka, the Honbu Dojo of WKO Bangladesh. The event was organized and supervised by Shihan Abdullah Mohammad Hossain, President, Country Representative, and Branch Chief of WKO Bangladesh. This important event marked another milestone in the growth of WKO Bangladesh, bringing together members to test their skills, spirit, and perseverance in the Kyokushin way.
The day began with lineup at 9:45 AM, followed by a demanding physical fitness test at 10:00 AM to assess stamina, endurance, and readiness. At 10:45 AM, the participants performed Kihon Keiko, demonstrating the fundamentals of technique, power, and precision. After a short lunch break, the grading resumed at 2:30 PM with the Tameshiwari (breaking test), where participants displayed focus, determination, and physical strength. The day concluded at 3:30 PM with Kumite, the ultimate test of fighting spirit in full-contact battles.
Notably, the Green Belt candidates began their grading with a 3km jogging test, designed to assess endurance and discipline before entering the technical and fighting portions of the examination. Their perseverance and determination set the tone for the rest of the grading, embodying the true Kyokushin spirit.
A total of 21 participants took part in this grading, including 9 female participants and 4 teenagers. The strong participation of women and youth highlighted the inclusivity and growing appeal of Kyokushin in Bangladesh. Approximately 50 spectators, including family members and fellow dojo members, observed the event and supported the fighters.
Throughout the day, participants were challenged physically and mentally, but they rose to every occasion with perseverance, discipline, and respect. The event reflected the steady progress of WKO Bangladesh and the continued commitment of KO Fight Studio to uphold the highest standards of training and Budo spirit.
The next official Kyu Grading in Bangladesh is scheduled for Saturday, 13th December 2025, at KO Fight Studio, Gulshan. In addition to regular training and grading, preparations are also underway for seminars and regional tournaments, ensuring that the growth of Kyokushin in Bangladesh remains strong and aligned with WKO’s international standards.
