10月29日（木）、世界大会に先立って東京ドームホテルにてWKO理事会が開催された。
席上では、同日に行われた審査委員会で承認された特別昇段が上程され、理事会においてもこの昇段が承認されることとなった。本昇段は、六段以上が主に長年の組織への貢献度、五段以下は、年齢や体調、怪我等を考慮し、過去の実績等が評価されての推薦、審議となる。
日本地区からも7名の師範方が推薦されたが、中でも緑代表の八段をはじめ、小林、三好両副代表の七段など、高段位の昇段が承認されたことが特筆される。特に緑代表については、WKO会長として幾度となく世界大会を大成功に導き、組織への世界的な貢献が高く評価されての八段昇段となった。
WKO recommended dan promotion (Japan Region)
In October 29th, WKO Board Meeting was held in Tokyo Dome Hotel in advance of
The 11th World Karate Championship. Recommended candidates of special Dan promotion were approved at WKO Grading Committee Meeting on the same day.
They were approved at WKO Board Meeting as well. With recommendation and discussion, these candidates for above 6th Dan, their long time contribution for Shinkyokushinkai was considered for the promotion. Also, below 5th Dan, their age, health condition and injuries, also achievement were considered as well.
From Japan Region, 7 Shihans were candidates of special Dan promotion. President Midori for 8th Dan, Vice President Kobayashi and Miyoshi for 7th Dan, and other high-ranked Dan promotion deserves special attention.
Especially, President Midori’s 8th Dan was highly evaluated of his leadership for World Karate Championship for many times as WKO President and his global contribution for Shinkyokushinkai.
