今年8月14日に急逝した故ピヤラトネ・ムトゥクマラナ師範の記念追悼式典が、11月13日にスリランカのコロンボで行われました。
スリランカで急速に拡大しているコロナ禍により、厳しい公衆衛生基準が課せられている状況の中、バラニワラ・アジス・リヤナゲ新国代表が中心となって準備した追悼式典には、ムトゥクマラナ師範のご息女チャギシャニ・ムトゥクマラナさんをはじめとしたご家族と、故人と縁が深かった支部長道場長、道場生たち約45名が集いました。
ムトゥクマラナ師範とのお別れは皆にとって耐え難い悲しみであり、参列者たちはそれぞれに弔辞を述べ、最愛の師範との在りし日の思い出や、師範に対する思いを分かち合いました。また、緑代表からは、ムトゥクマラナ師範が極真空手に及ぼした功績を讃えるビデオメッセージをいただきました。
最後に、ガンガ・プラサド・ディサナヤケ支部長が、新極真会の名をこれからも受け継いでいくことをムトゥクマラナ師範の墓前に誓い、閉会の辞としました。
Shihan Piyaratne Muthukumarana Commemoration Ceremony

On November 13, 2021, a crowd gathered to participate in a commemoration ceremony for Shihan Piyaratne Muthukumarana, who passed away on August 14, 2021.
The commemoration, mainly led by new Sri Lanka Country Representative Baraniwala Ajith Liyanage, was attended by approximately 45 people; his family members along with Ms. Chagishani Muthukumarana, who is a daughter of Shihan Muthukumarana, and those who concerned including the Branch Chiefs and Contacts as well as the members of the WKO Sri Lanka while strict health regulations had to be followed in the face of the rapid growth of COVID-19 in the country.
The separation of Shihan Muthukumarana was an unbelievable sadness.
Participants shared and deepened their memories and feelings for their beloved Shihan in their personal speeches. A video message from President Midori was also shared in the ceremony to praise the merits of Shihan Muthukumarana for Kyokushin Karate.
In closing, Branch Chief Ganga Prasad Dissanayake ended his speech by wishing that the name Shinkyokushin would prevail as Shihan Muthukumarana had hoped.
